I identified 4 phases:

  1. collect desired items
  2. make the order
  3. distribute the food
  4. settle debts

For each of these an optimal UI element should be designed.

Before identifying these, I had made a first iteration of a new design: [old wireframe]

This should be updated to visually separate the different phases, making it implicitly clear for the user which element we think will be most helpful for them at each moment.

Via IM I got the suggestion to hide more boxes when they're not relevant, perhaps collapsing and still openable if need be.
